Photo and video cameras installed on roads in Moscow for the first six months of this year, recorded 1.156 million violations of traffic rules (SDA), said on Tuesday the press service of the Moscow department of transport and development of road transport infrastructure.
"Just at the moment is made up 1.156 million of the protocol, of which: for speeding - 1.16 million for travel on a dedicated lane for traffic on the urban passenger transport - 140.698 thousand," - said in a statement.
Of a material that, in particular 20 to July 26 cameras recorded 54.619 thousands of violations, including exceeding the speed limit 49.822 thousands of drivers who went on a dedicated lane for public transport - 4.797 thousands of drivers.
Moreover, from April 15 to the center of the city began to run a specially-equipped vehicles that automatically record violations of the parking of personal vehicles. From 1 June to 26 July they had recorded 31.641 thousand violations of the rules of standing and parking of vehicles. On average, in June for a week showed about 2.5 thousand facts of illegal parking, and from the beginning of July this figure had risen to 3.5 thousands every week, according to the material.
"Once again, the Department of Transportation and Development of road transport infrastructure in Moscow reminds drivers for tougher measures to control traffic enforcement and parking areas, and encourages them not to break," - added in a statement.
In 2011, Moscow authorities began a massive operation to combat congestion. The main steps in solving transportation problems were the development of public transport, creation of parking areas and the introduction of intelligent transport system. Also on the roads began installing surveillance cameras. In 2012, on Moscow roads are planning to install 700 cameras that monitor road conditions, and by the end of 2013 the number of cameras is expected to reach 1.9 thousand.
