8 people killed in train accident in Poland

Passenger train collided with a bus in the center of the country: among the victims - citizens of Ukraine.

According to news agency AFP, the train collided with a bus at a railway crossing near the village of Bratoshevitse at 6.00 am local time on Monday, July 30.

The accident killed eight people - six women and two men, two others were wounded - all victims were in the bus, none of the train passengers was hurt.

  - Most of the dead - seasonal workers from Ukraine. In the bus on the six seats were 10 people, the "extra" people were not wearing - a police spokesman said the city Lodz.

At the scene working fire brigade and rescue workers. Traffic on the railway station is temporarily closed.

According to the head of the fire brigade region Kryštof Zielinski, weather conditions at the time of the collision were favorable. A possible cause of the accident could be a careless driver of the vehicle the victim.
