"Megaphone" and "Vympelcom" - became winners of the competition for the
right of obtaining licenses for rendering of services of communication
of the fourth generation of technology LTE, is spoken in the message of

At the contest were exhibited four Federal lot, each of which includes a two-frequency band width of 7,5 gigahertz in the range 791-862 gigahertz, the winners also will receive on the basis of a competition free frequencies in a range of 2,5-2,69 гигагерца (after summing up the results of the contest the decision should take SCRF).
The winner of the first lot, in the context of which were drawn frequencies in the range of 791-798, 5/832-839,5 gigahertz, became the "Rostelecom"; on the second lot (to 798.5-806/839, 5-847 gigahertz) - MTS; on the third (806-813, 5/847-854,5 gigahertz) - "MegaFon"; the fourth (813,5-821/854, 5-862 gigahertz) - "VimpelCom".
In the competition were also part of "Summa Telecom", "TransTeleCom" and two units of the Swedish telecommunications company Tele2 - UAB "Tele2-Voronezh" and UAB "Tele2-Omsk".
According to conditions of competition, the winners of the contest should begin to provide services from 1 July 2013, and fully network should earn in 2019. Each winner of the competition will have to annually invest 15 billion rubles in the development of infrastructure, a total of seven years will be invested 485 billion roubles. This amount does not take into account expenses for the conversion of the frequency spectrum, which the operators will have to pay for yourself.
The amount of funds needed to conduct conversion, in competitive conditions are not specified. As explained in Roskomnadzor, it is difficult to assess - it is influenced by, for example, inflation, the cost of military equipment and etc. Sounded quite different estimates of these costs: for example, NIIR called in the amount of 86 billion roubles, assessment of Roskomnadzor about 100 billion rubles.
LTE technology ensures data transmission with the speed up to 150 megabits per second, which is ten times faster networks of the third generation UMTS standard and in a few hundred times faster than the most common now GPRS/EDGE technology. The world's first LTE network was launched December 14, 2009 in Stockholm.
