Select the 100 books for students
Russian Book Union invites you to participate in the selection of 100 best books for home reading. The site knig100.spbu.ru started voting for the top hundred of the best students to be recommended as a "home reading." The project is implemented by the St. Petersburg State University (SPSU), commissioned by the Ministry of Education and Science.
In his article "Russia: the national question," Vladimir Putin, speaking of a multinational, distinctive and unified the people of Russia, recalled that "our nation has always been a reading nation," and proposed a list of 100 books for independent reading students in Russian schools.
The list began to form on the Presidential Decree of May 7, 2012 N 602 "On ensuring ethnic harmony."
In the spring of this year in all regions surveyed, the results of which were set up regional lists of 100 books to recommend students. Experts have analyzed the proposals and created a general list, which included 213 books, mentioned in the regional lists, and more often than not in the school curriculum.
Most literature is recommended for high school students - the list includes a collection of poems by Bella Akhmadulina, "Shepherd and Shepherdess," Victor Astafieva, "St. Petersburg" by Andrei Bely.
According to ITAR-TASS, the organizers believe that the 100 books - this is not the limit, and it is possible that the list will be added, including those books which will select the student himself and his family and teachers. The working group noted that it is "a program of self-education, which should be started at school and continued at various stages of the formation of youth."

I must say that many parents have thought about creating a list of books for their children. For example, Tatiana Yumashev with the readers of her blog was a list of works, which she offered to read to his daughter. Books are designed for students of primary and secondary level.
