Henkel increased its quarterly profit up 9.9% 
German manufacturer of household chemicals and cosmetics Henkel in II quarter 2012 net income increased at an annual rate of 9.9% to 412 million euros from 375 million euros, the company said. Adjusted net profit rose to 420 million euros from 343 million euros.
Earnings per preferred share rose to 0.92 euros from 0.85 euros a year earlier. Adjusted earnings per share were 0.97 euros versus 0.79 euros.
Sales rose 6.4% to 4.206 billion euros. Organic sales growth was 4%. Including sales growth direction "detergents" of 5.1%, "Cosmetics and personal care products" - 2.8%, "Adhesives and Technologies" - 3.6%.
Operating profit (EBIT) showed an increase of 8.5% to 583 million euros. EBIT margin increased by 1.5 percentage points to 14.5%. Adjusted operating profit increased by 18.6% to 609 million euros.
Net profit of Henkel in the first half increased compared to January-June last year by 21.8% to 817 million euros. Adjusted earnings per preferred share showed an increase of 21.1% to 1.84 euros.
The company increased sales by 5.6% to 8.214 billion euros. Organic sales growth was 4.3%.
Adjusted operating profit increased by 17.6% to 1.160 billion euros. EBIT margin increased to 14.1% from 12.7%.
«Henkel in the II quarter continued successful operation despite the difficult environment in the market: we have increased profits in all sectors and achieved significant growth margin of EBIT, - commented CEO Kasper Rorsted. - Strong quarterly figures reflect the ongoing focus on Henkel its strategic priorities. " The company expects 2012 organic sales growth in the range of 3-5%, expects to increase the EBIT margin to 14. Henkel raised its forecast for growth in earnings per preferred share from 10% to 15%.
Net income on the basis of Henkel in 2011 amounted to 1.253 billion euros (+12% in 2010), adjusted net profit grew by 11.4% to 1.356 billion euros. Sales showed an increase of 3.4% to 15.605 billion euros.
