In Russia, no longer work by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
Its activities in Russia stops U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), having worked in the country for 20 years.
On the curtailment of USAID reported today in the U.S. State Department. The American Foreign Service claim that this is due to the decision of the Russian government.
From the State Department statement: "While the physical presence of USAID in Russia came to an end, we remain committed to supporting democracy, human rights and the development of a healthy civil society in Russia, and we strive to continue to cooperate with Russian NGOs."
In the document, excerpts of which leads RIA Novosti, said that the agency is going to "complete responsibility" programs in Russia or delegate.
The U.S. Agency for International Development was established by John F. Kennedy in 1961. It works to promote democracy and human rights, as well as health, education, environmental protection and economic development. In Russia, USAID began its activity in 1992.
