Putin for the first time in 10 years refused to "direct line" to the people

Russian President Vladimir Putin this year may refuse to communicate with the population of the country in the format of the "straight line", which over the past 10 years has become traditional, confirmed the "Kommersant", press secretary of state, Dmitry Peskov. Sources told the publication that, instead of "straight line" in early November Putin may convene a press conference.

Peskov said that from the "straight line" no one was not going to give up. "This year is just another format," - he explained. On the question of the publication, in what format, Putin will communicate with people this year, a spokesman promised that this will be announced "as appropriate." Sands also told the newspaper that the date of the message to the Federal Assembly is still unknown. Source "b" in the Kremlin said that the training message is delayed, as the first message of the new president is important to keep a "very serious strategic guidance" and "a powerful energy and politically charged."

First, Vladimir Putin took part in a "straight line" with the Russians in 2001 - talks with the head of state with videoconferences, phone calls and letters were broadcast two federal TV channels. In 2008, when he became Prime Minister, the tradition is not broken, but the format was called "A Conversation with Vladimir Putin", and showed him only television RTR. Last year, Putin set a record of communication with the Russians - conversation lasted about 4.5 hours, followed by 40% of the viewers of the country.
